I've been hard at work putting the finishing touches on my first novel (well, not counting the book I wrote in fifth grade titled "The Evil Inside" which was every bit as unique as it sounds) (sarcasm, obviously) and I'm happy to say that "By the Sword of Maggie May" will soon be starting it's long journey towards (hopefully) publication.
"By the Sword of Maggie May" follows the horribly unsatisfying life of Margaret Mayfield, a young painter and waitress extraordinaire. As she becomes more and more unhappy with her life her dreams start becoming more and more vivid, eventually bleeding over into her reality. It's all very crazy and fantastical and there's a long path leading into a Dark Forest, killer birds, a samurai sword and lots and lots of purple paint. There's also lots of talk about pie. What can be better than that?
I'm SO EXCITED to share this journey with all of you! I'm also hoping to have time to do a drawing/charcoal series based on the book at some point. I mean, you sort of have to do an art series about a book about a girl painting an art series -- right? (Yes. I answered for you.)
